I wonder which would be warmer right now

the inside of an igloo or my apartment. Sometime during the night we "lost" our heat. Now, whether it's because we are out of furnace fuel (which we doubt as we can see the tracks of the fuel truck by our oil tanks) or if some how our furnace got turned off in the furnace/water tank room sometime yesterday is up for grabs. All I know is that it's a nippy 10 degrees in my apartment, and I am wearing socks. Yes, socks.

Update: We got our heat restored around 6:30pm ... it was a chilly 18 hours without heat ... my unit is now nice and roasty like Jamaica :-)

Brrrr! Yes, between the lack of heat, the lack of water and the idiot across the street Monty and I had to deal with last night its been a less than stellar start to the weekend.

Was that the idiot that I heard yelling and driving around on the quad at all hours last night??

Yup, that would be him. Though if you listened close enough you could hear him through his cursing, reciting a quatraine by Nostradamus no less.

(Either that or he was just really really drunk)

LOL. Should'a went out with a shovel and tripped him off of the quad .. that might have silenced him for a while (maybe ...). I was wondering what was going on out there, but didn't want to leave my cocoon of warmth to go investigate.

Socks? I always wear socks in the house. Now if you were wearing a hat and mitts while inside, I would say it's very cold.

I really don't like socks on my feet unless they are inside sneakers or boots. I prefer running around my place barefooted.

Wasn't wearing hats and mitts, although the thought did cross my mind when them temp dipped down to only 7 degrees inside.

I always wear socks. I only take them off when I'm going outside and want to wear sandals. My children on the other hand take socks off 10 minutes after putting them on when they think I'm not looking. Brats.

I'd go with the igloo. It was designed by generations of people who survived that climate.

BTW, this might sound like a dumb question but are there any "warm" spots around the poles? Like places where there is some geothermic activity or some other kind of geography that makes it relatively warmer?

I'm asking because there are many cool spots located on the equator where you would expect it to be hot.

Hmmm.... I don't know. I'll have to ask around to see if any one knows that answer.
