She always has customers! If you are interested I can get her contact info for you. She makes a lot for clients in Quebec, and of course us teachers :-)

Now all I have to do is learn how to walk outside with them .... as they are slippery! Might have to get me some grip tape (hehe)
OMG those are wicked!!! So the woman who made them lives in Arctic Bay? I love how you have them outside in the sunlight lol. Mine totally freeze my feet.
Yesm's Jen. The creator lives right here in Arctic Bay, about four houses down from me to be exact. I haven't run around too much with them outside yet, as I figured getting used to wearing them inside (where it isn't slippery) would be a good idea first - as it sure is strange not having that rough rubber sole under your foot.
If your's freeze your feet, you might need to get a fleece bootie made for them. Mine came with two fleece booties, but I can only wear one of them as two makes it just too tight with the socks I own.
I'm impressed you got them to stand up all nice and neat for their picture.......mine kinda just flip over on the floor.
It took me a couple of shots and tries to get these pics ... but, I do have to say, mine do stand up very well on their own. I think the inner felt sock helps with that a lot.

I am in awe. I can't wait to show these pics to the kids after march break. They ooohd and ahhhhd over the mittens, and they absolutely love Ookpic! Sarah is a very talented lady. Bring them home. I'll gladly keep them in the freezer! (Mom)

Hello! I found your blog while looking for a place to buy a pair of Kamiik. Could you tell me how somebody in the US can obtain a pair? Also, is the lady who made yours still making them, and is she currently taking new clients?

I've also been searching like crazy on how to get a pair of traditional Kamiik from Nunavut. Travel isn't a logical option as I am also in the US. I'd also appreciate any information you could provide me.

Beautiful Kamiik!! I would love a pair myself :) Do you need to store them in a freezer for the summer?
To the people in the US - I'm pretty sure it's illegal to bring sealskin into the US. That could explain why you're having trouble finding some in the US. In fact, even if you travelled to Canada, you would need to declare them, and I'm not sure they would let you bring them in.
