This is pretty extreme even for me - and I've seen some wild temperatures over the years. On the bright side, at least there is zero windchill here 'cause then it would be really down-right, freakishly, crazy, nasty, obscenely frostily frigid. Sometimes, the English language just doesn't contain enough superlatives.
You know its cold when the locals tell ya its nippy out and you have to make fun of how much colder it is in other communities like, say, Igloolik 'cause its -66C there.
lol - I know. I was reminded several times today that is was -66 in Igloolik and Hall Beach today. And if we had the wind here, we would be down in that temp too!
Missy: I just went into the template area and clicked on edit template and searched for the little snippit of code that contained all of the color variables (it's usually pretty close to the top). Do a search online for CSS color codes and use those when you swap colors in the template. It might take a couple of tries to get it right, but play with it. Nothing bad can really happen.
These swings in temperature are giving me fodder for word problems in math class. We are working with integers, and the rise and fall of your recent temps has been interesting!
After spending six years living and teaching in the Canadian Arctic (Nunavut and Yukon), I returned to the Maritimes to work at my Alma Mater, The University of New Brunswick, as the Media Lab Supervisor with the Centre for Enhanced Teaching and Learning. At the Media Lab I help faculty and students learn how to use instructional and media technology in their classes and projects.
