it was pretty much an ordinary event. ...
Did everyone in town run outside to look at it?
I'm in Yellowknife now, but I used to live in Inuvik, and I remember dropping everything to grab my parka and run up the hill for a better look at the sun.
Well, running up the hills here is a little hard .. and when it initially returned it was -48 outside, so no one really went out side to run to it. Other than the crazy person sitting here (hehe .. I went a running out to the sun, got my pictures and went running right back inside as it was freaking cold).
Surprisingly, most of the kids say "ohh.. too bright!"
