I was bored early this morning .... ok... i couldn't sleep .. so I started to play with different shutter speed settings on my camera ...

Do you have a tripod? That's very important for slow shutter speeds...

also, look for your 'ISO" setting, the higher the number the better (but more grainy) your photos will turnout in low light!

phil - i do have a tripod ... and my camera at the time was set to 1600 ISO .... what shutter speeds I used I can't remember, but, if I remember correctly, the top one was 1/4000, the middle one was 1/10, and the bottom, 0"5... normally I would need a tripod for anything under 1/10 ... but I just balanced it on the arm of the couch ... all about experimenting :-).
