LOL - I live way up North .. above the Arctic Circle. I'm closer to the North Pole than I am to my hometown. It's not to bad though... yet. I can't wait until I get the -40 degrees picture ;-)

Does that count windchill or just straight temperature?
I assume temperature because I was like "that's all?" when I saw that.

Oh temperatures in the north, a constant pissing contest.

I agree though, Brrrrrrrrrrrrr.

LOL - that's just the temp ... add the windchill in and it's -35. Not quite parka time... but getting damn close.

And yes, it is a little pissing contest up here in the North with temperatures :-) - can't wait for -40!

This just puts it in perspective for those southerners who are going "booo-hooo, it's going down to zero tonight and then back to +13 in the morning" (I know who you all are ;-) )

Wow! You are a lot tougher than I am! I broke out the Canada Goose as soon as I got to Rankin (aka, end of October).

But then again I guess I have a 20-25 minute walk to work in the mornings!!!

Pissing contest? LOL! You can keep your super cold temperature! I am happy as pie with our only -8C! I am secure with my wimpyness. :)

I have about a 10 minute walk in the morning and after school. In the afternoon if it's really cold and windy out I do wimp out and go over to the detachment and ask (every so nicely to our two wonderful guys who don't mind getting out of the office for a bit) for a ride out to my place.

I think the parka is coming out tonight though, as we crossed the -30 mark this afternoon .. it's now -31 outside with a wind chill of -38.

I don't know if I would call it toughness or just stupidity on my part Jackie ... it's just such a hassle to get the zipper up on my parka (need to break it in still).

Those CG parkas are a PAIN to zip up!! I thought I was just fat, I am glad to hear it's not just me!!

I just re-read my comment....I mean to say that I am glad I am not the only one that has problems getting the coat zipped up...not that anyone one is fat...lol
I guess while I am commenting again I should add a tip: I zip the coat up first then pull it on like a sweater.

Ok kids. What kind of crazy CG parkas do you have???
I'm mesmerized by the complexity of it all!!!!

haha - I understood what you meant by the comment Jen - I think we all think that about ourselves and those darn CG parkas! I wind up zipping mine up and pulling it on from the bottom up as that pesky inside wrap thing that I have with mine often winds up halfway up my back if I pull it on like a sweater.

Sometimes, depending on how much difficulty we are having with our parkas, we'll ask who ever with are with to zip them up for us - kinda like what I have to do with my kindergarten kids!

Jackie, I've got the Resolute - extremely nice and warm jacket .. it's just that the zipper is a pain in the ass. All of us here that have the Resolute that haven't had the chance to break it in all have the same problem.
