The first "real" snowfall of the school year (as I was told by my students today). All I can say is that it is kinda weird having weather that is similar to NB in the middle of winter in September... but enjoyable all the same.
I think I'll go outside and make a snowman.

kennie- i love the king george v mountain photo from yesterday ....seems to take on a new identity with snow
that it does - the snow isn't quite as prominent today as it was when I took the photo, but it's still breathtaking. I'm looking forward to all of the other sights that winter will bring here.
Some days its beautiful. There is a word in Inuktitut; "kajjaanaqtuq" which sorta translates into "awesome", but there is no english word that I have come across yet. It encompasses all the enviroment into one word. But we do have "seasons", which differ from european seasons, I guess refelcting the north. Elders there know more about these seasons and I think accepting these season might help to adjust to the northern seasons....just a thought.
Juanasi, good point. I know my students were trying to explain the seasons to me in class today (I'm more confused now), so I think I am going to have to go seek the wisdom (and guidance) of one of the Elders here.
