Hiya Kennie! I only know a couple people from Ft Res/Smith, and I don't know them all that well. I've heard lots of good things about Fort Smith...doesn't seem to have too many problems. Doesn't seem to be a developing drug problem such as in Hay River either. I think it has quite a few services too...
I don't know much about Ft Res...I've heard it can be rough...but that's just gossip really.
After spending six years living and teaching in the Canadian Arctic (Nunavut and Yukon), I returned to the Maritimes to work at my Alma Mater, The University of New Brunswick, as the Media Lab Supervisor with the Centre for Enhanced Teaching and Learning. At the Media Lab I help faculty and students learn how to use instructional and media technology in their classes and projects.

That be great if you could Alex! I've been poking around too and have been getting the same general feedback.
