That brings us to tonight, where as in our usual Friday night fashion, we all gather up together at someone's house just to chill out and relax after a busy week at school. Tonight, it's game night .... specifically GTA IV night ... it's quite amusing playing and watching the game - especially since it seems to take three of us to play the game: one person with the controller, another person watching the map/radar on the game and the third person with the manual trying to figure out the buttons.
Not too sure what I'll be doing tomorrow yet. If the weather is nice, I might hike on out to Victor Bay ... but if it's been like is has been all week, I"ll be just sitting back playing video games.

I really must work on my driving skills huh?
LOL - your driving skills were far superior to mine last night :-)
Hi Kennie,
I was wondering if you know anybody up in Alert?
artie
I think a couple of years ago ... or it might have been last year, I had a friend who was up there for a week or so doing some work on the radar / airplane system up there. But past that, don't know anyone up there. Why?
I am completely fascinated by the thought of you people living up there.
Well, not many live up in Alert. There are only 5 permanent residents that live there year round, but there are many that come and go from there because of the military base (well... SIR station to be exact) and a weather station / lab.
And just below Alert there is Eureka, which is a little more populated than Alert ... as in there are at least 8 staff members (Military / Government / researchers) there all the time on a rotational basis.
As far as I know, there isn't really any "community life" in Alert and Eureka (correct me if I am wrong guys) like in more southern Northern communities.
After Alert and Eureka, you would hit Grise Fiord, which I consider a more "normal" community as it does have a higher population, about 150, and has the typical services you would see here in Arctic Bay - school, RCMP, health center, hamlet offices, government ....
