The 12 Days of Christmas ... Arctic Style

Tuesday, December 18, 2007
Yes, I think the darkness is finally getting to me ... I'm starting to rewrite Christmas songs ....

On the first day of Christmas, Nanook gave to me a frozen arctic char.

On the second day of Christmas, Nanook gave to me two silver seal pelts.

On the third day of Christmas, Nanook gave to me three White Ptarmigans.

On the fourth day of Christmas, Nanook gave to me four ravenous ravens circling above my head.

On the fifth day of Christmas, Nanook gave to me five Northern Gift Cards.

On the sixth day of Christmas, Nanook gave to me six Narwhale tusks.

On the seventh day of Christmas, Nanook gave to me seven ice fishers fishing.

On the eighth day of Christmas, Nanook gave to me eight pairs of long johns.

On the ninth day of Christmas, Nanook gave to me nine new dance moves.

On the tenth day of Christmas, Nanook gave to me ten sled dogs sledding.

On the eleventh day of Christmas, Nanook gave to me eleven cans of Timmy's fine ground.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, Nanook gave to me twelve hunters hunting.

Hi Kennie

I am a teacher in Cape Dorset and I noticed on your blog the mention of XM satellite radio and the fact it does not work very well. Does Sirius work up here? If it does I was thinking of purchasing one when I am back in N.B. for Christmas.

Thanks

Blake

Blake, Sirius doesn't work either. I brought up my Sirius radio system in the hopes that it would work ... and no matter how I tried to angle the satellite receiver, no luck. It's one of the other RCMP members up here who had XM and ran into the same issue. Although, both XM and Sirius will tell you without a doubt you will get excellent reception up here (uh ... no .. I couldn't even get 10%).

For all I know it might work in Cape Dorset as you are a little further south than I am.

Check with Jen from Jen of Nunavut - one of the blogs on my side bar she might know, or knows some one who knows as she is in CD as well.
