I remember the days back in the 1970s when we had about 5 varieties of tinned fruit... cordial came in orange lemon and lime... you could not get grape juice for love nor money except in expensive bottles... nowadays this so called "Thatcherite food" (in Britain) is commonplace... I don't think we realize how very very lucky we are!!

True True! I just can't get over the prices of the everyday items that I would just stop by the grocery store and buy back home compared to here. It puts things in perspective in a way.

HOLY CRAP! I complain about here, but really we have it good, it's only a measly $15 for juice down in the tropics of the low arctic!! The sealift was really made for Arctic Bay! Are those the small cans of Timmies?

Jen, no those are the big cans of Timmies that I'm used to paying 12.99 for ... not 24.29. The smaller can (that I pay 6.99 for in NB), costs 15.99. Before the sea lift came in August, they (the big ones) were 36.99. I cried... and that same carton of tropicana oj went for 24.99 before the sea lift arrived. Which confused me, as it's not like we can get a years supply of OJ in all at once since they have expiry dates....
